What do you do all day at Time Out?
I create video content for Time Out, and for our clients. In collaboration with the team I plan, produce, direct, shoot and edit.
How are you making the most of your time in Sydney during lockdown?
While I can’t be out exploring and videoing the city, I’ve been creating a range of fun Time Out Instagram/Facebook videos at home – showcasing unusual facts and at-home experiences that people can try. With the help from my partner Alex, and my boy Bernie the bulldog, we have made a number of quirky TikToks promoting delivered desserts, DIY crafts and more. In my spare time I’ve been doing a bunch of home improvements, and creating music.
What are you looking forward to after lockdown restrictions ease?
I’m really looking forward to seeing some great local live music again!
What made you join Time Out?
I had done some freelance work for Time Out before and I had such a fun time that when the position for a full-time videographer came up, I had to apply. I love that Time Out encourages people to get out there and enjoy local artists, bars, restaurants and businesses.
What international destination will be your first to visit when the border restrictions ease?
Too many places to name! I have been wanting to catch up with family and friends over in Europe, so first place would either be Holland or France.
Favourite bar, restaurant, neighbourhood in Sydney?
One of my favourite cafés is Sideways Deli Cafe in Dulwich Hill. Such a great café to sit outside on a Sunday morning for some brunch. My favourite bar is Rio Bar in Summer Hills – my partner and I always try different cocktails and meals off their menu. To top it off my friends also perform there on occasion. My favourite neighbourhood is Little Bay – my favourite thing to do there is to grab a takeaway bacon and egg roll with a coffee and head down to the beach for a morning swim.
Do you have a personal motto?
“The world is yours.”
A good video should have…
A good video needs good audio! Bad audio, or the wrong song choice, sticks out like a sore thumb.
Plans this weekend?
If the sun is shining, I’m going to start working on my herb garden, and then follow it with afternoon cocktails and then who knows?
