Time Out have implemented sticky ad display ad units in order to increase engagement and provide better value to our commercial partners

As of November 22 2016, we have taken another small step towards providing the best value advertising platform in the market. We have implemented a minor engineering tweak to our sites to ensure display ads are as viewable as possible, which will ultimately result in a higher CTR for all commercial partners utilising display advertising.
Technically, the development sees the implementation of sticky billboards, leaderboards and HPUs across all Time Out desktop sites. Users will now see the sticky display units above the nav and in the right-hand rail stick in the same position on the page for a predetermined duration. Extensive testing of multiple variations has demonstrated an uplift of 150% in viewability, with no signals of a negative effect on UX.
For our commercial partners, the result will be higher engagement with the Time Out audience, courtesy of increased viewability and a higher CTR. And ultimately, better value from your display advertising campaign with Time Out.
